A marriage taking place in West Champaran district of Bihar is in the news right now. In this, the JCB machine performed a ritual by becoming an aunt. Before this marriage, the ritual of pounding the soil in Katha Matkor was not completed by the aunt, but by the JCB machine. Although dozens of women were present there along with the groom. But this ritual of pounding soil was completed by a machine.
JCB machine completed the ritual of Katha Matkor
Actually, this case is of Ward No. 9 located in Gurchurava of Majhauliya police station area of the district, where a family did not get the Katha-Matkor ritual of their son done by aunt and sister but got it done with JCB machine. In this video which is spreading rapidly on social media, you can also see that the groom’s ritual is being conducted by digging a pit by JCB, where there is a crowd of women nearby. According to the information received, this ritual of Katha Matkor was of Alok Kumar, son of Mahavir Prasad Kushwaha, a local resident of Gurchurwa village, whose marriage was completed on 21st April.

Marriage without dowry became a topic of discussion in the village.
The groom’s father Mahavir Prasad Kushwaha told Local 18 that he has three sons and two daughters. Alok is his second son, who lives in Delhi and works as a carpenter. Mahavir has married his first daughter, after which it was Alok’s turn to marry. The good thing is that Mahavir Kushwaha did not take even a single rupee as dowry in the marriage of his son Alok. Along with Alok, Mahavir also wanted to make this marriage memorable.
In the same sequence, he also completed this ritual of Katha Matkor with JCB instead of getting it done from his aunt. Villagers say that as per Hindu customs, the ritual of Katha Matkor is performed a day before the marriage. On the day of Matkor, sisters and aunts complete this ritual by digging the soil with a spade. But this happened here, seeing which the people of the entire village are surprised.
